but let’s talk about some Emmy noms shall we?
Game of Thrones with 11 including Best Drama!
But no Best Directing/Writing awards, or more acting awards than just the Dink.
Modern Family maintains the lead in comedy with 14 nominations, including all 6 adult cast members getting nominations!
30 Rock still looking strong with 13 nominations!
But no more Jane Krakowski :(.
American Horror Story leading all shows (tied with Mad Men) with 17 (!) nominations! I guess the switch to mini-series worked!
Sherlock getting 13 nominations including Mini-series/Movie, Lead Actor & Supporting Actor! Makes up for last year’s shut-out.
Girls with 5 nominations, including Series/Actress/Writing/Directing for Lena Dunham!
Downton Abbey’s impressive 16 nominations including 6 (!) acting nominations - Dockery, Bonneville, Smith, Carter, Coyle, and happiest one for Froggatt!
Mayim Bialik is an Emmy nominee! So is Uma Thurman! And Zooey Deschanel!
Veep sneaking into Best Comedy! Just wish Anna Chlumsky made it in too, but it’s too late for that.
But what’s with the lack of Parks and Rec in comedy? I know I only watched it months back but it totally deserved one.
No Apartment 23, Cougar Town, Happy Endings, Revenge and just one for Shameless & Raising Hope?
I’m sure there are more that I missed. But hey, let’s just have some cake. Emmy’s are on September 23!
